When using Avid MC 7, I'm getting the error "No media can be written to any mounted drive. Please check write permissions." when I try to use my Small Tree shared storage as the final location.
Avid MC 7 (and prior versions of Avid MC) will not work with NAS volumes by default. They are ignored and Avid will not allow you to select them as destinations (other than as AMA volumes). The error is simply Avid stating that it cannot find an acceptable destination. To get around this, navigate to the Tools menu and select "Console". In the Console, type "alldrives" and hit return. This will toggle Avid into allowing NAS devices to be seen and used. If you type "alldrives" again, it will toggle off. The setting persists, so you only need to do this once. One done, Avid will allow you to select NAS volumes and write to them. Bear in mind there are significant restrictions when using Avid to write to NAS volumes. For MC 7 and beyond, we suggest you attach to NAS volumes as AMA volumes (Avid Media Access)Back to Apple OSX 10.8
