Brooklyn Creative Facility Streamlines Workflow with Small Tree System

Challenge

With no centralized storage in Optic Nerve’s five workstation facility, much of the studio manager’s time was spent inefficiently searching for project files and making sure they were available on the appropriate editor’s workstation. 

Solution

In order to improve the facility’s project tracking system, while maximizing employee productivity through a streamlined workflow, Optic Nerve installed Small Tree’s Ethernet-based GraniteSTOR unique OS X networking technology, which supports multiple Ethernet ports tightly integrated with Apple’s built in file sharing system, AFP. The GraniteSTOR solution, consisting of Small Tree’s PEG6, a 6-port Ethernet card Edge-corE ES4528V, a 28-port Gigabit Ethernet switch certified to work with Small Tree’s technology, has turned project management into a snap, with all of Optic Nerve’s files located in one place, giving the facility’s five editors immediate access to the footage and assets they need to complete their projects.
