The Small Tree PXG1F server card provides a single optical Gigabit Ethernet port allowing you to connect to optical networks from your Mac system. The PXG1F card supports jumbo frames which provide an immediate performance increase on large transfers. The PXG1F Gigabit Ethernet port will support Mac OS X's built-in link aggregation in combination with the internal Gigabit Ethernet ports of the system. The PXG1F will operate transparently with non optical Gigabit Ethernet ports ensuring that no application changes are required. The optical output of the PXG1F will support standard Gigabit Ethernet connections of up to 550 meters. Must be using OS X 10.4.11 or later. This product is NOT compatible with Intel Xserve system.
