Document Cannot Be Saved/Network Cannot Be Found Error

Sometimes, when there is an error in saving a document, it's an issue with a font, or with multiple layers when trying to save a .jpg. Merge layers for .jpgs, and attempt to find the bad font and change it if possible. If those aren't the root cause of the issue, you may want to attempt to reinstall the program, which in general corrects some basic errors. This restart of Photoshop should also fix any basic network issues, such as an error message that the network can't be found. The high amount of resources Photoshop requires to run makes running it from a network connection somewhat tricky.

If you are accessing a network server with Photoshop, it's important to make sure that the network has enough capacity to handle the resources Photoshop will use. Although Adobe recommends working with files on a local disk, it's important to remember that this is a one-size-fits-all recommendation. The reality is that a properly configured network gives great performance and many benefits like sharing files between multiple users and simplified backups for your team. At Small Tree, we're the Mac networking experts who can give you great Photoshop performance and shared storage.
